Theodus Crane, best known for his portrayal of Big Tiny in AMC’s highly acclaimed television drama series “The Walking Dead,” has immersed himself in the world of entertainment, performing in a variety of avenues since he was a child. He holds a world title in amateur kickboxing, has a background in music as a cellist, and has a solid foundation in dance and in the performing arts, appearing in everything from independent productions to major live shows like Jesus Christ Superstar and Hair. My exclusive interview with Theodus took place at the Spooky Empire May-Hem Convention in Orlando, Florida in May 2013. Theodus, who has been touring conventions since March, showed no signs of slowing down. The soft-spoken actor said happily: “By nature, I’m a nomad.”

Movie fans will probably recognize actor Mike Christopher for his leading zombie role in George Romero’s classic film Dawn of the Dead (1978). In the following candid interview, Mike talks about his experience working on what is now considered one of the most iconic films in horror history:

Recently, I went behind the scenes with Derek Garcia, fan favorite and finalist from Season 3 of SyFy Channel’s Face Off. As many of you will know, Face Off is a make-up special effects competition and TV series hosted by actress McKenzie Westmore, daughter of famous SFX artist Michael Westmore. (Westmore, who is one of the most respected men in Hollywood, is best known for his work on the Star Trek series. He has made guest appearances on Face Off, lending his support and expertise to a whole new generation of artists.)

Actor Bill Moseley is known around the world as Choptop, his character from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 , and more recently for his role as Otis in Rob Zombies’ House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil’s Rejects. When I most recently had a chance to chat with Bill, we dug a little farther back. A graduate of the prestigious Yale University, Bill began his career in New York as a journalist.

Special Effects Makeup Artist Barry Anderson baffled a lot of people as a child when his reply to the common query: “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. was: “I’m going to be a Mad Scientist!”. Yet, Anderson has done just that, working as an effects artist on major horror productions such as Jeepers Creepers and George Romero’s Day of the Dead , and participating in criminal investigations/recreations.

This past October, Florida celebrated the Halloween season with the fun and gory bang of Spooky Empire. Petey Mongelli, owner and event producer of Spooky Empire, said the thing that separates Ultimate Horror Weekend from other conventions is simple: “It’s not a Con. It’s a party.”. Ultimate Horror Weekend got its start in 2003.

Actress Selenis Leyva co-stars in the popular Netflix original series “Orange Is The New Black” that debuted in July 2013. Leyva, who gave us an exclusive interview, talked about her first season on the show and about how her life as an actor began. She also shared some insight into what may be in store for one of our favorite onscreen criminals – inmate Gloria Mendoza.
